    Fix for AdLogix IPU.EXE

"ipu.exe" is a browser hijacker that loads popups for AdLogix.com
There is virtually NO information about this file in English anywhere on the
    web.

Adlogix website has no information about this spyware or how to remove it.

NONE of the available Spyware removers or Popup Blockers detect or remove
it. Not Ad Aware, not Spybot Search & Destroy, not Pest Patrol, not Hijack
This. Nor Google Toolbar, Pop-up Stopper, etc.

It produces HUNDREDS of small popup windows. It is nefarious and must be
    stopped.

You will know you have it by right clicking on one of the small IE windows
    it produces and clicking Properties.
The URL will look something like this:
    http://www.adlogix.com/servers/?Vxg.......

    To stop it:
    1. Close all browser windows (hah!!)
    2. Do a Search>Files and Folders... type in 'ipu.exe' (no quotes)
    3. The Search tool should find it in your system folder C:\Windows\System32\
    or C:\Windows\System\
    4. In Win 2000/NT, Use Ctrl+Alt+Del to launch Task Manager and go to
Processes and End IPU.EXE For Win 9x, you will probably need to restart in
    Safe Mode.
    5. Once you have stopped the application go to the folder where it resides
    and DELETE it.
    6. Removing it does NO HARM.
    7. Write or call AdLogix at the following address and tell them thye are
doomed to suffer horrible disease and pestilence for their karmic crimes.

    Adlogix Media Group Inc.
    #301-788 Beatty St.
    Vancouver, BC
    V6B 2M1

    (604) 730-9037

    Hope this helps you all.
This piece of crap had me suffering for two weeks

No...it took me two weeks to find out WHAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM.
If you read my original post, none of the software I had identified any of
    those files.

It took about two seconds to come up with the procedure.

    Thanks for the links.

Okay, I was pulling your leg. I know how it's sometimes bloody murder to get
    rid of spyware.

    Re: Fix for AdLogix IPU.EXE

    Hi there,

The ipu.exe didn't come alone. There are others files that make our
    life a nigthmare.

This files come into Inpop.cab downloaded by ActiveX and installs at
    C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\ directory

    InPop.ocx
    IPU.exe
    Phelper.dll
    regobj.dll
    update.txt

    To fix it you could:
    start a command prompt
    stop explorer by taskmanager
delete all files described above by command prompt (cmd)

    or

go to "C:\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files" directory
    Right click over Inpop file
    Select Remove
After this do a check-up to ensure thats files are actually deleted.

    Regards

    Eduardo Cossa
