    XP phone home

I opened 'help and support' in WinXP and saw 5 hits to remote locations on
port 80. Three hits were to IPs at Microsoft. Two were to LEVEL3
    Communications.

I closed it, opened it again. This time there were two hits. One to
    Microsoft. One to UUNET.

I looked on Google, saw a suggestion to turn off search options. Did that.
Opened 'help and support'. Two hits again! One to Microsoft. One to UUNET.

    Wassup wit dat, eh?

Get free Zone Alarm. Install it to stop that.

Help and Support is just another Web page, produced by XML.

It has a "Did You Know" Section that populates on every launch.

Security Wise, it should be treated like any other Web Page.

What has that to do with anything? Free ZA will block as I said and stop the
    problem he perceives.
