    HOSTS file infomation?

I am currently using the HOSTS file to block popups (whenever I
get one I check the properties and add the site to the file), but
I am still left with all the windows that say they can't find the
    site.

So, my question is, is there a way to use the HOSTS file to
supply a self-closing page? I have some web space from my ISP so
I guess I could redirect it there if I could figure out how to
include a path in the URL.

Any help for me (or is it too late)?

Which HOSTS? Have a look at this one: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Plenty of useful and helpful information.
