    Possible spyware

I have a program that gives me a list of possible spyware on my
computer. Some are obvious from the name, like gator, but others are
not. Is there a web site I can go to that might help distinguish which
ones are spyware. Some are programs and some are registry keys.

Sounds like your "program" is so untrustworthy that you don't even want
to mention it. What good is your unnamed program that lists suspected
spyware programs if you don't believe their list is correct? Use
    Ad-Aware and/or SpyBot.

He may be using Spybot, which is very hot on reporting tracking, and
    confusing those items with spyware.

Spybot requires a little more knowledge on the part of the user, but the
explanations which pop up when a suspicious item is clicked on should
allow a clueful user to decide.

    Cheers,

I have used ad-aware but it doesnt remove it completely. The program I
didnt mention was because it wasn't a spyware program, just a start up
manager that shows all programs and registry keys loaded for different
users at startup. Some I recognised as spyware ie. gator, others I
recognised as programs or services I used. Others I didnt recognise so
I wanted to check if these were the few programs/registry keys that
were spyware and adware. As it happens said "untrustworthy program"
    was startup control center.
