I think the title of this thread is deceptive. Sure, the Canadian
dollar currently trades for about US$0.75, but that does not mean
that Canadian stuff costs 75% of what it costs in the U.S. Not
only does it take more Canadian dollars to buy something in
Canada, but the prices are further inflated by Canada's appallingly
high sales and other taxes.
I live next to Mexico and the Mexican peso trades at 11 to the
dollar. That does not mean that stuff in Mexico costs 1/11 of
what it costs in the U.S.
