    Direct Connect

I've been using KazaaLite for some time now and had been discouraged
when I installed other P2P programs only to have them infest my
computer with spyware from hell and hijack my browser. But I just
installed Direct Connect and after scanning my system I am pleased
to announce that it contained no malicious components at all! I
really am amazed, especially after a recent fiasco where I installed
a turd called eDonkey. Just to rant...eDonkey is a fake - it is
not a P2P program at all, simply a trojan designed to trick you into
installing the spyware/adware/****ware/etc. it contains, plus it
will write itself as your browser's home page and if you change it
back it will go and rechange it immediately afterward. It pretends
to be trying to connect to a list of servers but never succeeds.
The eDonkey *******s even went and planted references to popular
documents on the web that would say you needed eDonkey to download.
Well, the files are fake...they are just a trick to get you to
    install eDonkey!

Well Jay..there are no spy's other than the RIAA/MPAA and FBI on occassion passing thru on
PeerGuardian....but that is the only spying that happens, when one of a PG db'd rat
attempts to obtain your file list..As far as I can see as long as PeerGuardian is running
and up to date, you will not have much in the line of weasel's getting in...
