Hi,
I was hoping this group may be able to help. I've been using
Spector Pro quite successfully for about a year, I had been using
Norton Anti-virus 2002 but started having problems with which I
couldn't resolve so I switched to NOD32. Last Friday I decided to
check for updates of Spector Pro and downloaded and installed the
latest version, build 1114. Subsequent to this NOD32 started to detect
Win32/Urlbot.A trojan in a DLL in System32 folder. I deleted the
infected file and found that Spector no longer worked. I re-installed
a previous release of Spector which was fine, did a complete virus
scan of my system, all Ok. I then re-installed build 1114 and hey
presto I get an alert, this time in a different named DLL in the same
folder.
I mailed Spector Soft about it, but they are in denial that
their software is to blame. I have 2 options as I see it, stay on the
previous release or configure NOD32 to ignore the DLL (although it's
still going to detect the memory resident part).
My reason for the post is to find out if I am alone in this
problem or whether there are any others using NOD32 and Spector Pro
and experiencing the same.
Many thanks,
Steven.
