    Removing CommonName spyware

Can anyone assist me in understand a bit more about CommonName, a spyware
program. I have been battling to remove this parasite from my Win2000
machine for days. Spyboy S&D says it has been partially removed, but will
remove the last traces on reboot, but either it doesn't run, or it locks up
and doesn't complete, when I reboot.

I have been to their web site and used their so-called "online
uninstaller" - which did nothing. I have deleted the CommonName folder from
program files; it is not (and never was) visible in the add/remove programs
window in Control Panel. I cannot even see the programs running in Task
Manager any more. Yet Spybot S&D insists it is still on my machine and lists
a heap of files and registry entries detected for it.

How can I successfully remove this parasite from my machine??? More
importantly, where the hell did I get it from? Its appearance seemed to
coincide with the installation of "Avant Browser" on my machine, but that's
only a guess - no-one else seems to have complained of spyware with this
browser, so I am guessing coincidence.

Also, is a file called "004.dll" associated with this parasite, or is it
    something else again???
