    website-pushers

    Hello,

Anyone advise on whats happening to my browser?

Every now and then a website is pushed at me, pops up, if you like
from some crowd called cmeptb.com....and the adverts often have teosoft in
    the address.
It generally pushes websites that sell web-security software.

I have used Ad-Aware and deleted everything it found but still I'm getting
    these
    aggressive sites.
Some of them don't even allow me to close the page leaving the only escape
    through
visiting their website thus bringing back into view the shutdown option.

Is this a common problem or something new?

    Any help appreciated.

    Brian

Given that, from the above, it appears that your browser is MSIE, the answer
is: "acting normally" (not to be confused with "acting correctly").

You are near-certainly running with such things as JavaScript and ActiveX
enabled. That's a Really Bad Idea -- nearly as bad as running MSIE in the
    first place.

I suggest you kill multiple problems in one fell swoop:

Or better yet, get the full "98lite" or "XPlite/2000lite" (depending on
which flavor of Windows you're using) from:

    <http://www.litepc.com/>

And start over on your system setup.
