    Startup Porn-ad Popup

    To All:

Yesterday evening when starting my PC, I got a porn-ad popup on startup
(small gray box with a "message is waiting for you" line). Running
Ad-aware, Spybot and Norton AV all came up negative. A quick search of the
Registry for selected character strings in the pop-up also came up negative.
A quick (but not complete as I did not cross check everything) check of
MSCONFIG - Startup did not show anything unusual.

Should I assume that whatever caused this is still lurking somewhere on my
PC? If so, how should I proceed to find it?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Doesn't answer the question unless you are connected to the net at the time.

    The person:

The problem was DEFINITELY answered in the earlier post. I was connected to
    the net at the time.

    Thank you,

    Steve
