    is this correct about cookies

    X-No-Archive:Yes

I've been doing some reading and wanted to make sure I'm right.

If I register at xyz.com with a hotmail address, and enable cookies,
it's my understanding that the hotmail address as well as the user name
and password at xyz.com will be on the cookie. That is ok with me. But
will xyz.com be able to find out my ISP and that email address?

    Thanks!

Only if you hand it to them on a silver platter If you don't take
draconian measures to hide your IP address while surfing, your ISP can
be deduced. But your email addy is safe unless you specifically
    divulge it.

OK, well I guess w/o a court order they can't associate the IP with me specifically right? Thanks for the info, I didn't know what the contents of the cookie were and if they included my main ISP email. I just don't want them able to find me. It would be bad for me at work.

Do you really want us all to know that you're cheating your employer?

Um NO. How is posting on a public board about factual things on my own
time and computer cheating my employer? Perhaps you need to get all the
facts before making such crazy unsubstantiated statements.

I'm NOT stupid and know if I did anything on the work network, they can
    see everything.
What a waste of typing, but oh well, I just had to reply because you
sound just like those on the board I'm dealing with.

What lame reply is that? It is totally off topic and doesn't help my question at all. If people would just stick to theh topic, we would all be better off. And if you really think my posting was abusive, I feel badly for you in day to day life.

No more lamer than you cheating your employer by using their resources to
download child pornography, bestiality, or whatever else you do (other than
work) and then coming here to ask how you can cover your tracks. Does SBC
mind that you do this? Maybe they should be asked ...
