    KAV and McAfee have been doing this for quite awhile now. Besides
    Trojans and backdoors, some av vendors are obviously spreading out
    into all kinds of controversial-ware. The designation anti _virus_ is
    way out of date. These vendors produce anti-malware products.

    producing malware themselves:
