What's the best spyware removal program?

I'm currently using Ad-aware and wonder if it is considered the best
spyware removal program, or if there is another out there I don't know
of. For some reason the word "Lava" brings up a red flag... seems
like either that company or one that sounds similar actually installs
spyware on your computer! I may just have the name confused..

I dunno about the Lavasoft - installing spyware thing, nor do I have a
way of determining what's "best". I use both AdAware and Spybot. Some
claim Spybot is better. I'm in the habit of scanning with Spybot first
and I can say that AdAware never finds anything afterward (if that
means anything). Maybe I should try the reverse and see if Spybot
picks up spware installed by AdAware?

Seriously, I suggest giving Spybot a try. It seems to be quite
    thorough.

Re: What's the best spyware removal program?

I recently went to the lavasoft website (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) to
download the latest version of adaware and for some reason the site was in
    DUTCH?!
Now I wonder very much how an american site could have known that I am
Dutch: I have my IE configured to ask me every time before installing a
cooky and I generally refuse, even than: this was the first time I went to
the site as I usually download my software from Cnet.com.
I sent an email to the nice people of lavasoft about this and they claim I
went to the site http://www.lavasoftusa.com/default.shtml.nl, but this is
NOT true. Even if I type in the URL http://www.lavasoftusa.com the site is
    in Dutch.
They did claim in their email not to install spyware.
I was wondering what you guys think of this.

Do you have a default language set in your browser?

It's sort of true. If you have the default language set in your browser
and their site detects this, you will be redirected.

    I don't think it's spyware.

What is considered "the best" flavor of ice cream?

Quite a few -- many of them worthless or worse, now that this issue has
become "hot" and the carpetbaggers have moved in. But one in particular
that is widely considered a "must have" is "SpyBot Search & Destroy". See
the FAQ for the download URL.

Probably, or you're letting you imagination run away with you. AdAware is a
long-time-standing "Good Guy" program. No worries.
