Update your anti-virus definitions. Sounds a lot like the SoBig.F worm.

Sound advice *but* his machine is not necessarily infected. SoBig.F
worm fakes email addresses and his email address has probably been
found by the worm on an infected machine and then used as a fake
    sender address.

Not necessarily. Some spammers do steal email addresses to be used in
their "From" or "Reply To" lines. My guess is that these spammers feel
more secure if these addresses actually exist. Not that they're willing
    to supply their OWN address.

I had this done to me. As far as I could tell, there was nothing I could
do about it. There was no hint as to the actual sender of the returned
mail - so no way to guess who to send the abuse notice to.

Fortunately, though, it lasted only a few days and disappeared as
    suddenly as it appeared.

Thanks for the response guys. I updated my anti-virus program and scanned
my system; also ran AdAware and SpyBot.....everything came up clean.
This isn't my main email address....but the mailbox is full now - of
"returned undeliverable" messages. For what it's worth, I changed my
    password. <g>
