I did all the first steps and it gives me a message saying "Look2Me-Destroyer has detected that the Task scheduler service is not running and will start it now."
Then it goes to the 1 minute message but it never opens.

If Look2Me-Destroyer does not reopen automatically, reboot and try again.
I tried a couple times. Something is wrong with Task Scheduler.
If for some reason Look2Me-Destroyer doesn't reopen check that task scheduler is running.
If it isnt you can use sc.exe to start it
start>run sc start schedule press enter
For some reason I still can't get Task Scheduler started.
When I use command prompt I get this.
and when I use Services.msc I get "Error 1717: The interface is unknown."Code:Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. Are you the Admin of the computer? How many users accounts are on the computer. Believe that to run the Task Scheduler this should be run from the Adminstrator account, not limited user accounts.
Try, Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Scroll down and see if you can start it from there.

I only have My account. The System Administrator and Guest.
I tried from Services and got the Error 1717 message again.
Let me do some more checking and I will get back to you ASAP.
Sorry it has taken me so long...
Go into Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services and be certain that Event Log is set to Automatic and Started.
After you have done that then see if you can get Task Scheduler to begin.
