    Xupiter and Whazit

This may sound like a strange request, I have looked everywhere can someone
tell me the exact websites where I can get download Xupiter toolbar and
Whazit. I've tried so many .cjb.net websites and browserwise but only got
    gator/GAIN trying to download.
The reason is that I'm writing a report on the two hijackers, so I need to
find out exactly how they function.

    Thanks.

Lower your security settings to minimum - search any of the warez
sites, they just love drive-by BHO installs. I hope you know what
    you're doing!

It changes all the time depending on ad networks; it's usually difficult
to track pop-up drive-by downloaders before they move elsewhere.

The last known major Whazit spreader was outwar.com (which was an irritating
enough site *before* they started installing parasites). I think they've
stopped with Whazit now, they've been installing ISTbar/MSCache instead.

Looks like this Whazit codebase still works:

    http://216.65.38.226/downloader.cab

run the contained EXE at your own risk.

Assuming you want the original variant of Xupiter (there are *many* others),
    try this codebase:

    http://www.xupiter.com/search2/insta...lbarLoader.cab

Thanks very much it was very helpful to me. I couldn't get the Whazit one to
work though. I think Whazit is no more, the Windows Media Solutions site
    isn't working either.

What do you want to know?
Tons of info in Google. Just a couple of sites.

    http://www.spywareinfo.com/newslette...2/09212002.php

Google Groups has 4,200 hits about it.

Now, why do you think he did that? He wants to get in contact with
people... like Rachel Ross from the Toronto Star... It seems the
subject is getting more press recently... They want stories, not being
    SPAMMED!

You can give a guy all the Google hits you want, this will never
replace stories of those who had their whole set up ruined by this
malware and had to reinstall everything they had on their system... the
more worse the story sounds, the better (for selling the paper(!

    Hi Dick,
I *was* joking, I think? I took the liberty of sending the chap several e-mails
with piles of links, etc. He is being taken care of.

    Regards,

*grin* Works for me ... I speak German so I'd understand something
    over half of it!

    Keep up the good work!
