OK, MTO... I also have Outlook Express 5.01 on this system (although
I'm fasing it out)... now tell me then which of the settings under
options I must use to show the messages as plain text. AFAIK that
feature has been implemented in OE6... but now I don't need it anymore
;D, OE crashed that much, that I decided to use two separate programs
for mail and news and I like em both (FoxMail and XanaNews) very much.

    Greetings

    Hi Dick -

This is an XP machine so it is running OE6. Been a while since I used an
older version of OE but I do have it stashed on a hard drive in another
box - though that one I set up a long time ago. As I recall, you can set
the older version to show just plain text also - check Tools/Options/Read,
then muck around with the buttons. ?Might have something to do with
attachments? If you can't find it holler and throw the cables on the old
    box and have a look\

Tried Xana when I started having problems with crash/burn & OE on the old
98SE and was quite happy with it. Haven't bothered to put it on this
    machine as yet.
