    Question Problems with HJT Analyzer

When I copy my HJT Log, paste it in the analyzer and click on 'parse', the next page tells me: Critical Error! There are HTML tags in your HJT Log. I'm using the same HJT I have been using for almost 2 years, and it worked before. I did notice some changes to the site and I haven't tried using it in 3 or more months. Did I miss something? Help would be appreciated

We had a major crash last month and are slowly rebuilding. Please post your log in Software/Malware Help

Thumbs up Thanks for getting back to me

OK, I went to that forum, and when I got there, I read PhilliePhans readme first post. I have all the programs listed there (plus 2 or 3 more), except I have Cleanup!, instead of CCClean, I have Spybot and Ad-Aware both scheduled to run twice a day (mid-afternoon to cleanup from my pre-work internet use, and early morning hours to do the same for my evening surfing), I also use Spybot's TeaTimer and Ad-Aware's AdWatch (both are GREAT, but you have to buy Ad-Aware to use AdWatch), and I haveWindows Defender, the retail version of SpyWare DR, and Norton Anti-Virus scheduled for a quick scan every day, with SpyWare DR and Norton also doing a complete scan once a week. I use Norton Internet Security for a firewall, and have purchased and use (every month or two) PandaScan Active-Pro because the free version does not delete malware, only viruses. I also have the retail version of Ewido (but only run it once or twice a month because it takes so long and I haven't yet taken the time to figure out when to schedule it to run without bumping heads with my other scans) and occaisionally use Trend Micro and Symantec scans. You may call me paranoid, but I don't often have problems with malware or unwanted programs, and since I'm not experiencing one at the moment, so there's no need to post my log for help and take up the time from people who actually have a current problem, I just like to parse my HJT log every 2 or 3 months, you know, trying to be proactive instead of reactive. Do you have any idea at this time when the Analyzer will be working correctly again, and if not, can you put me on a list or something so I can be notified by email when it is working again? Or will I just have to just keep trying and find out for myself? Once again, thanks for getting back to me.

Don't think it has anything to do with the analyzer itself as these errors used to show up occasionally before the crash. It has to do with how your log was saved and posted I believe...Have brought this to the attention of the Admin. hopefully he will have an answer here for you.

    Thank you, Judy.

Yes, I've had problems previously, but with no error messages that I recall, and if I went back later, eventually it would parse my log. But this time, I received that critical error message and was sort of caught off guard. As to posting my log, I did it the same way I always have: I run HJT and tell it to scan and save. When Notebook opens with the log, I copy it to my clipboard and go to the Analyzer and paste it there. Is there a different, or better, way to do it? Thanks again, Jeff.

Honestly Jeff, I have no idea. I know others in the past have received the same error and there IS a specific reason this happens, but honestly I cannot remember why it happens.

Ok, thanks a lot. I guess I'll wait to see what the administrator has to say. On a completely different note, I notice you're in Northeast Indiana. Would you happen to know where Geneva, IN is? That's where I am.

Don't know if the Admin. will see this or not. He sort of has us hanging at the moment. Hopefully he will see this and let us know.
Yes, I do know where Geneva is if you are in Adams County south of Berne. I am in Marion in Grant County.

I don't have any idea other than the server has been having some problems lately with being a bit too busy. I'm thinking that when the log processing takes more than the alloted amount of time it errors out. As you said trying back later it worked!

Hello again, Judy, and blank. Sorry it's been so long since my last post, but for some reason I did not get a notification email about either Judy's last post or the administrator's (blank) post, and I just figured that since I don't have a high priority problem, that you guys got busy with people who did. Which is perfectly ok, seeing as this is only a minor irritation to me, and I suppose I will eventually get worked out.

First, to Judy: I know exactly where Marion is. My grandparents lived there from the time I was 5 or 6 years old until they passed. I still go over there once or twica a month and spend the weekend at my uncle's, just west of the bypass, on Winona. I actually live about smack in the middle between Berne and Geneva. Small world.

Next, to blank: Yeah, the last time I had this problem, I don't remember what the error message was, but I know it was a different one, I was unable to get my logs parsed for about a month and a half, and then it started working again. This time, it's been about a month or so, and I'm still getting the : "your HJT log contains HTML tags. Are you sure your posting an HJT log?" error. I tried again just this evening, and then I came back to the forum and found out that I had these two replies that I didn't know were here. Hopefully, it hasn't been too long, and you guys will be notified that I replied. If it has been too long, and I don't hear anything in a day or two, I guess I'll come back and start the thread again, but I will try to log on and use the analyzer at different times in the hope that it is just a case that it is too busy when I try to get in. Thanks guys, for your help.

    Jeff
