Not sure about this. How do new readers get to know of the FAQ unless it is
regularly referred to from time to time, irrespective of whether it
    changes?

Also - I see that jv16 Power Tools is no longer freeware:

Ira and Robin, I think we are all actually on the same page. As an FYI
by the way, I post the FAQ once every two weeks, as decided by the
group of regulars who created it...
I think continuing to post every two weeks and adding a "last Update"
field on the subject will adequately address your concerns.

And by the way, I don't post very often, but my signature includes a
link to an HTML version. You are all welcome to use the HTML source
code and post it elsewhere / link if you wish.

    Thanks!

No worries... "shplink" posts the full FAQ regularly (every two weeks, I
think); so newbies should find it without difficulty, as long as they
exercise sufficient good judgement to heed the old "Usenet 101" adage about
    "read before you post".

I will note in passing that the posting interval could probably stand to be
stretched out to once-per-month, now that the FAQ has "stabilized" somewhat.
But if that is done, a more-frequent (weekly?) posting of a short "FAQ
Pointer" (sometimes called a "Meta-FAQ") message is probably a good idea.
