Just a rant: Mark o' the Beast??

I only posted to this group because I found a spyware that was
surreptisously (sp?) installed on my machine.

TO prevent same from occurring again, I upgraded all my "security"
    settings.....

and find that now, I cannot access some groups because I won't lower my
    threshold.

Well, goodbye Internet stuff.....if I have to lower my shield just to access
    you,

    no thanks.

bye. I have finally reached "the End" of the internet. I'm going
    back......now.

    its been real. c:\ ya!

Really makes you wonder just exactly why such sites insist that you view
their sites with big security holes wide open, doesn't it?

Sure ain't what she used to be. Sometimes I really miss the days when you
could fit all of WordPerfect AND the thesis on a single 1.4 MB floppy, when
Gopher was king, when information was at your fingertips and you didn't have
to wade through sometimes millions of useless "search engine" listings to
find what you needed. "Commerce" has taken over for fair and all.
