    Download Manager?

Anybody know of a download manager/accelerator that doesn't contain spyware,
won't spam your email address, actually works and is free? Anyone used Star
    of Fresh Download?

    Thanks -

The guys that compile this list *claim* the contents are adware free...
    Have a look, "downloader" beware!

FWIW - Most download managers have some sort of malware, not necessarily
    spyware.

Choose one, install it the run SpyBot and Ad-aware right away.

Thanks, I'll give it a try - been using an older registered version of
    GetRight.

Use caution. After I uninstalled GetRight because of the spyware/malware
business I can no longer download anything

    Hi MTO,

Did you clean up your registry?

Haven't looked at that yet - had to reinstall the GetRight to get something
else - and I still have to hunt around and find out what it is leaving
behind and how I get it out.
    Suggestions?

BTW, if you are looking for such a thing, Lightening Download, which sports
a very nice anti-spyware letter from the programmer at it's site - is by the
    same company. Not for me.

Nah, thanks! Now, what you *could* do is install Getright through Total
Uninstall, then run GR once, then uninstall the lot through TU again...
the GR garbage should be gone then!
