Not a problem. I had my default DNSKong rules set up for AOL. I deal
with a lot of AOLers and even have ot use it from time to time, so I
just left those in. Also, the AOL folks tend to be the least...uh,
computer-savvy...of all, so they generally need the most help. I had
to have something in there, and an AOL DNS server is a lot more secure
than just allowing Kong to connect to any old DNS server. You're
supposed to change the IP addresses in the Proxy DNS area of DNSKong,
and also the DNS to DNS Server rules of your firewall if you activate
them, to point to your ISP's own DNS servers.
If it worries you, just remove the offending IPs from the Proxy DNS
menu. Take some time at some point and find out your ISP's own DNS
servers and enter them in the Proxy DNS field and also in the firewall
rules. That'll make your DNS a pretty tough cookie and will stop the
likes of Lop, and apparently now some other malware, from hijacking
your DNS settings.
