That doesn't work, because most spam writers interrupt words with
nonsense html comments. This makes the words invisible to the filters,
but not to you, because the email program filters the html comments out.

I use mailwasher pro, with DNS blacklists activated, a few filters
(mainly for asian languages) and train it by marking for blacklists. It
is now simple to check for spam, and to delete it off the pop server
before it hits my Eudora (with Spamnix for added safety).

Mailwasher will also let you see the raw text, with all the gory html
remarks, and all headers, so it's easier for spam reporting.
