Sure, Proxomitron has some nice customization features. After your post I
downloaded a much more recent version, it's gotten a lot beter. That being
said, Webwasher has some nice features as well.

Webwasher has the very handy editable dimension filter, and a HOSTS that works
by IP as well as url for those of us who can't run massive host list and still
get connectivity this is a nice workaround. Download the current and have a
    look.

I actually downloaded it at the beginning of this year. I took a look at it
again. Yep, abt the same as I remembered. The dimension filter of Ads is
easy to use, but what if advertisers started using different dimension
sizes not on the list? Webwasher would be toast, proxomitron would not if
you knew how to change the filters.

I also remember the webmaster popup blocker was inferior to the one in
proxomitron's default set, as it blocked too many useful windows.

Must have missed this. I'm not certain if you can use proxomitron to do
this. Anyway there are advanatages and disadvanatages of blocking by ip
    versus by url/domain-name.

I use kerio for the former (DNSKong is another option), hosts file for the
latter. Proxomitron further refines this for HTTP.
