Thread: Are These Legitimate WindowsXP Programs?

    Hi Ho Silver Guest

    Are These Legitimate WindowsXP Programs?

I am trying to clean up my system, and have run across several programs in
Add/Remove Programs which I cannot otherwise find, for example, by using
Search Companion. Also did some Google searching for these, but not found.
I want to remove programs and other items which may conceivably be remnants
of spyware, virus, etc. I have asked this question in another newsgroup,
but asking here because of no response elsewhere. If anyone would comment
    on whether
these programs are legitimate parts of WindowsXP, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.
    The programs:

    Batch Assistant

    Data Compiler

    Indexing Function

    SBM OS

    Search OS

    TP HTTP

    URL.IE APP

Check them against the Pac's Portal list of start-up programs:

Thanks for the tip Robin...I checked but still did not find even one of
these programs in Pac's lists...not that these programs are causing me a
known problem, and I may just note their presence and wait for further
    developments if any....
    cheers, John
