    xp pro help

Afriend of mine gave me a old computer that has XP Pro installed.
The cheap power supply was toast so I got it running with a new one.
Problem is the system is pass word protected and I do not have it she says she forgot it, go figure.
Is their any one out there who knows how to re-set the pass word, or should I just forget it and reinstall xp pro as a fresh version.

I am stuck with the password promp and really do not know what to do from there any help would be great!

I'm really not comfortable helping someone bypass password protection. There are ways and means to do it, but frankly, if a reformat is not a hassle for you then that is what I'd suggest. Unless of course there is data on the machine which you wish to keep . . . . . Whch rolls me back around to my initial discomfort

A couple links that may help:

    Best luck to you
