    Java ???

    Need to know which one of these I need or if i need them all....listed in my add/remove program list.....or if there's something else I need to do ???

    That is tricky. Some programs require that you run older versions of java, and if I remember correctly the newest version is 6. One of the other members should be able to help you with that.

    The newest java version, Version 6 Update 2, and is the recommended one. Uninstall all those you show via Add/Remove. Then go to this link to download the newest version; JavaDownload

    I always recommend the manual install, meaning you download the program, close out all unneeded programs, install the new Java version and then go here to verify that the installation was successful.

    It is true that occasionally a program will run better on an older java version but this doesn't happen often. If you find this is the case with something then the older versions can be downloaded from the same site. However, the newest version is much more safe and secure and makes it less likely that you will get things like a vundo infection which infects victims' computers by exploiting a vulnerability in earlier Java programs.
