I had to post this since I doubt anybody will read that far - Funny stuff!

    http://michaeljacksonthebeerhunter.b...u-sign-my.html

In a particularly poignant memorial to the Beer Hunter, Lew Bryson includes a story that begins in a bathroom.

    Here is another.

Jackson had just finished speaking at a vertical tasting held away from the Great American Beer Festival hall. Before heading off for a beer writers' dinner, then to sign more autographs at the hall, he stopped at the restroom.

As he turned to leave the urinal a fan emerged from a stall, holding a piece of toilet paper. Jackson paused. The man passed by, shyly mumbling how much he enjoyed the tasting.

The chap who would drive Jackson to the beer writers' gathering, like Jackson sure that they had just missed a person asking for an autograph on toilet paper, had to ask: What was the strangest thing he had ever been asked to sign?

"Well last night two women asked me to sign their beavers," Jackson said.

    He paused for effect.

"They both had those . . . I think you call them Beanie Babies."

Lol...pretty funny stuff. Where the heck you find this stuff Mr. Bookworm?

Glad you checked in for a change....as far me, I had almost a near death collision on my bike last night but thankfully I got away with a few scratches, and a possibly broken left foot (but since I can walk regardless of the pain, I don't think it is broken).
The bastage run a red light while going 60+mph on a 40/45 mph road, I was doing about 35/40 tops. I had only couple of secs to hit the brakes but ended up having to lay the bike down but my left leg/foot got stuck since it was instantenous.

Oh well the van missed me by inches, if he did hit me....no more TL for sure so I am glad to be alive.

Amazingly bike had minor scratches and a slightly bent foot peg.

Glad you are OK! That is one heck of a close call! I hate intersections with traffic lights for lots of reasons, and that is one of them.. Gotta slow down to about 30-35 before you get up to the intersection, using your high beams can help get you noticed on blind intersections as well, but you gotta slow way down untill you can see far enough down each road to make sure it's safe before going accross. Either that you you gotta be doing like 200mph and time it just right so that you slip between the back side of one car and the front of the other :P

You probly hyper extended the ligaments that keep your foot from bending too far down/back.. I did that to mine when I went down on the left side, got my foot stuck for a second.. once I got my leg out, I rode ontop of he other side of the bike the rest of the slide/spin, kinda like surfing I went down under power, cause I was rolling on in a corner.. So I skidded like 40 feet to the side of the road.

If it is just a sprane then it will have some quarks to remind you that you went down from time to time... The strange lingering sensation in the ankle.. not like pain or anything, more like a little buzzing.. Nerve damage I guess, anyway, that is what mine is doing right now, and it's been like couple years or so? hard to remember.

I used to read and listen to the Beer Hunter years ago (when I drank more).
I still cringe when I hear ads for Miller lite and the like claiming to have won numerous taste tests. Gimme a break! That sh!t might taste better than dishwater....

I always worry about my friends with motorcycles. I've had three die in my lifetime - two were hit by other drivers and one hit a patch of water on the freeway at 100+ mph. Scary stuff!

Glad to hear you are still in one piece, my friend!

Some guy on a sportbike was tooling around the neighborhood, being stupid... Reving it up, "loud pipe" running it through about three gears wide open n junk, came down the road, blew through a stop sign about 25mph, probly wasn't paying attention to where he was going ended up on the wrong side of the road.... I heard the bike rev through second or third gear, then some tire skid for a split second, then the tell tail sound of plastic stuff tumbling down the street.. I went to check it out, thinking I was gonna have to call the ambulance, saw a few people standing around a guy sitting on a bike on the sidewalk.... Saw some tire marks on the curb, scrape marks up over the curb right between the sidewalk and a parked car... Nearly stacked it into the front of the parked car.. looks like the bike tumbled over the curb, tire bounced off the tire of the parked car, then the bike tumbled about another 25 feet up the sidewalk!

The guy must have been drunk or something cause it didn't look like he had a scratch on him... He started the bike up and rode off.

One of the persons standing around had a handfull of parts that fell off the bike, a turn signal and the face screen of the skid lid..... The guy didn't even think to get the parts... Probly worried about getting busted..
