OK got really fed up and disconnected SATA totally. i spent a few hours updating drivers (including IDE). When I switched pc on this morning (after reconnecting SATA) IDE hd loaded and lo and behold the SATA hdd showed up in My Computer (D drive). It is still formatted from when I tried to install Windows and has some but not all of the OS files. It does not allow me to partition it. How can I copy entire operating system from IDE to SATA?
