    My granddaughter is sick.

Sophie Makay Rothermel, born August 5, 2007 at 6:57 am weighs about 4.3 lbs and 16 inches long.

Sophie was life-flighted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK for surgery due to her intestines and ovary outside of her little body. If you touch her wrong it can put Sophie into shock or even worse, kidney failure or kill her. Her mother Brittany delivered Sophie natural and did not know this was going to happen even after there were three ultrasounds done. Brittany has not even been able to hold her daughter.

Brittany spoke with the physician and that baby Sophie will have to stay in the hospital for approximately 2 months. As long as everything goes smoothly, Sophie will be expected to be on long term medication and cannot get any infections. Brittany will get to stay at the Ronald McDonald house for 2 weeks, but she will then have to find a place there after. Brittany is a full time college student and her transportation is not in great condition for her to be traveling back in forth to Tulsa. Her vehicle has no air conditioning.

Donations are being taken for baby Sophie at the Poteau or Heavener First National Bank.
    Paypal donations: sophierothermel@gmail.com

    Thumbs up

Whip, do not even mention it! It is good to be able to have the opportunity to actually help someone that we know when it is indeed needed!

Just keep us posted on her status please, whenever you have time.

    The update for today is...

Brittany had been able to hold Sophie, She still has the IV in her head and the tube in her stomach and the expect to be able to feed her sometime next week.

Brittany says thank you for all the messages it makes her feel good that so many people care. The nurses at the hospital told Brittany that they have never seen so many messages.

I want to thank all of you for what you have done for my daughter and grand baby. Keep the messages coming, It is a real help.
