Jholland, I think he should also run a reputable Rootkit and Key-Logger scaner on top of a Trojan scanner just to be certain because it is either a trojan or formed rootkit with a key-logger according to the characteristics you mentioned above.

For that "not valid any more" LSP 25,5g entry, searching the bolded in the registry and noting each exact matches and deleting the invalid ones would be logical. You might want to use a registry cleaner such as RegScrubXP or Regseeker but more than likely you will have to deal with this odd entry by doing a manual search & delete.
