The startup on my system is extremely slow and my cpu usage was going from 26-80% at all times. It also takes 5 minutes for my system to shut down and I get a message stating "running logoff script' until it shuts down.
I read your sticky note and took all the steps you require, with the exception of the online scans. I was only able to run Panda, the other scans wouldn't complete, it just stayed in process for over 10 minutes so I shut it down. My system performance improved and is now running from 8-30%, so there is improvement, but it still takes a long time to log on and log off and to run any program.
When I did the Ewido scan, it found some problems and when I attempted to fix them, it gave me the message "C:Windows\gogotools.exe\SilentInstallw32.exe cannot be quarantined because it is embedded in the archive C:Windoes\gogotools.exe. Do you want to quarantine the whole file?" I chose Yes.
I also attempted to change the home page on IE from CNN to just blank, but it continues to change it back.
I've attached my registry log file from hijackthis and the file from the online Panda scan.
