Looking for Reminder/Calendar freeware

Hi All,

I'm looking for some good (but safe) freeware that will remind me a few days/weeks in advance of birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

I am aware of Remind-Me for $20. Also have read about Micro-Sys Ajour, MyReminders, Kronos, Rainlendar, and Alarm Me. However, I am wary about malware in these products and cannot get a handle on whether any/all of them are OK or not. Have just installed Phatsoft TMR, and it seems OK, but would like a calendar interface, and an editable list of events.

Will appreciate any input regarding these above-named titles, or any recommendations for other reminder/calendar freeware that is safe. Thanks.
