Time for a check-up...

My computer has become very sluggish/slow...especially at start-up. Once it is up and running (~10 minutes or so), it performs adequately.

I have completed all steps in the "read me" posted and have attached the pertinent logs to this thread. Kaspersky found a virus but didn't allow a fix. The others did not find anything.

Huskerfan, your Kaspersky log is pretty much un-readable as there are no line spaces. Can you give me the name and locations of the virus found?

Sorry about that...I have re-saved/attached in a readable format.

It appears that the "Exploit" virus was found by Kaspersky in the Quarantined area of Norton.

Also a bunch of other objects that were locked.

Empty those Norton Quarantine files, you don't have any reason to keep them. Only thing I really see is that you don't seem to be using a firewall. This is a must.
You have a lot of things running in the background and some unnecessary items running at Start up which can certainly slow the computer. I recommend Mike Lin's StartUpControlPanel to control your auto-starts. Very easy to use and it is free.
Have you defragged lately? I would do that if you haven't.

I checked to make sure that Windows Firewall was turned on and it is. Would you suggest another/different?

I defragged a few months ago and did an "analyze" a couple weeks ago...said the drive didn't need to be defragmented.

I'll check on the startup items...thanks for that link.

The choice for firewall is your own. Personally I use the built in Windows firewall without problems. Many prefer using one of the free ones noted here
For defragging I use Auslogic Defrag tool. Extremely fast and free.
If you have done a lot of downloading, removing of files, installs and uninstalls and generall cleaning I recommend defragging, even if the built in Windows defrag says unnecessary. You don't need to defrag often but it should be done occasionally and that is why I use Auslogic. ~TL from here is the person who suggested it to me and I love it.
