    Question svchost.exe / naPrdMgr.exe / FrameworkService.exe takes approx 98% CPU

    Hi

For some time, I have been experiencing especially cvshost.exe, minor degreee frameworkService.exe and today also naPrdMgr.exe to take up to approx 98% cpu.
It seems to be rather random which process that takes up a lot of cpu - somtimes I survive killing it, sometimes not (windows want to boot right after :-)

I followed the "Read me before you..." thread to my best ability.
I enclose my log from this (cleanlog.doc)

Finally, I enclose a HijackThis log

Hope somebody can help - it drives me (and my wife and thus me again) crazy! :-)

    Goodnight from DK (02:26 a.m.)

    First of all, here is the information on frameworkService.exe and naPrdMgr.exe. It seems that both of these processes are related to your anti-virus program;
The naprdmgr.exe process is installed on computers within a network to ensure that virus scans and updates are managed and controlled correctly. It can be used with both McAfee and Symantec products.

    FrameworkService.exe
is the McAfee Common Framework Agent service program, which is a part of the Anti-virus suite from Network Associates.

Generally the LinkOptimizer listed in your Add/Remove has been known as a Trojan.Downloader and there is now a new removal tool for it just released on September 1st.
It has been known to be very difficult to remove and this is the first tool developed and released that is specifically for it's removal.
It can be downloaded from here LinkOptimizer Removal Tool
    Download and run the tool.

I see that you did try to run some of the online anti-virus scans and some items were cleaned. Don't be concerned about some of them not running. Several of them do cause problems for many people. Were you able to boot to Safe mode and run CCleaner, AdAwareSE, SpyBot, and Ewido as directed in #8 of this link READ ME Before Posting A Request For Assistance!

If you didn't try, please do so now these programs are very important for cleaning also. Have each program fix all it finds. For Ewido especially, save the log and post it here once you have completed all those steps and rebooted to normal mode.

How long have these problems been happening? Is the Anti-virus program you have installed a new one or have you been using this quite awhile?

Give me some specs on the computer...hard drive size, RAM installed...etc.
Once you have completed the remaining steps and rebooted to Normal Mode run the new HJT scan and save the log. Post that new log, along with the Ewido log here next.

    Hi

I have executed the LinkOptimizer removal tool as suggested. log attached

I DID run the scans suggested in item 8.
Unfortunately, I was not very thorough on documentation here. Rather stupid!
Actually, I only have a log from ewido - attached

The problem has existed in a month or 2. As I see it, it started from one day to another. To my knowledge, no sw was installed around that time (but it IS a family PC :-)
I have had he antivirus sw since I got the computer (approx ½ a year)

Specs: Laptop, Intel M, 2 GHz (798 Mhz!!??) 1 GB RAM, 90 GB disk

A fresh HJT log (only change: LinkOptimizer) attached

    /John

Your Ewido and LinkOptimizer logs look like the programs did their work. Will take a bit to go through your HJT log but so far it really looks pretty good. Now you do have a lot of programs which are set on auto-start when the computer boots up and many of them are not necessary and can be run manually. Give me a bit and I will go through the log fully and note those too.
Be sure to empty out all your temp files by using CCleaner is one thing I note that should be done.
    Back to you ASAP
