How to move files renaming if duplicate exists

I have files in many directories and want to move them to another folder. Some of the files have same names (though content is different). Is there anyway I can move all these files, automatically renaming them with, say an incremental number, if there is a file in the destination folder with the same name as the one being moved? If I could do this in XP itself, it is great otherwise can you pls suggest a utility (if there is one you know)?

    Thanks

    Arun

I don't know if there is a safe and proper way of doing this within XP for multiple file which some might be the same name but I do use and recommend this freebie which is excellent for renaming file(s) any which way you can!

I would select those files to move, cut then paste them into the destination folder

when prompted to overwrite any existing file simply answer no
then a utility could be used to append a "_2" to those files which were unmoved
    lather, rinse, repeat
