Hello Halfahotdog,

You are using an older, outdated version of HJT. The latest (Beta) version is 2 from TrendMicro who recently acquired it but we still prefer users using the 1.99.1 version which you should download to obtain a log file. Afterwards, if you still need help, attach the log file as a .txt attachment to your next post please. You could download a self-extracting version I created from the bottom of this post.

I tried your self extracting link but it wouldn't "stay" on screen. I downloaded the version you recommended from download.com. I hope I have done everything correctly. Please forgive my ignorance.

No worries Halfahotdog, I myself, have been extremely busy (new city/new job, etc.), ton of stuff to do so I am quite tired at night and usually don't have the energy to spend time during the week but I am sure Jholland will swing by and help out, ok?

Couple of things I noticed that you should correct and run another scan/new log:

1) Was Internet Explorer really running when you ran the HJT scan? If so, you have to remember to close all IE windows before running the HJT scan, ok?

2) HJT was run from a 'temp' location (even worse, I think you ran it front within the zip file!!), not a good practice, especially if you need to restore/revert changes made using the program. That is why I suggested that you used the self-extracting version I had created on that post (not sure what you mean by 'not staying on screen'?). Anyhow, create a new program folder within the 'C:\Program Files' folder called HJT, HijackT or HijackThis or whatever else appeals to you and then place the executable in it, then run the scan.
