    woot!!

Dad got me a used (old)Murray 11hp 36" cut riding mower for my B-day.

Took a lil while to get it running right though.. fuel cap has to be vented/cracked or it vapor locks.

The damn grass was 4ft tall in some places. We raked it all up and took it out to the farm to feed to the cows. You wouldn't believe a 68'x150' lot would have enuff grass to fill the bed of a F-350.

My old 3.5hp pusher about kills me. back/knees/hips.. that and it stalled if you even looked like you were gonna push it into high grass.

Sounds like fun. They are always more fun when you have to mess with them to get them running. And believe me, I know how quick grass can accumulate

    Congrats on the new mower

True and True. People amaze me, they whine about shortage of water yet they water their fake grass mindlessly and also certain shops (including movie theathers) got those ceiling-level mist sprinkler systems that cools people off my wetting them slightly as they walk under it!! Crazy if u ask me...

blow out the carb overflow passages, breather hole that routes from inside the bowl up and back to the air cleaner side of the intake of the carb and then the air-jets and finally the bowl needle valve for the float stop height.

Vapor lock is different, when the float bowl and fuel lines boil out from heat soaking when you turn it off.

It sounds like you are suffering from fuel not being able to be pulled from the tank.. This can also happen if the main fuel line interior diameter is a mess.. I don't know exactly how it happens, but my lawnmower was sputtering to a stop and it wouldn't run untill I pulled the cap off and gave it a breather.....

It was the fuel line ID all clogged up from one end to the other from being attacked by the fuel? Thought fuel line wasn't supposed to do that...

we have invasive species crab grass that we brought home from the local park about 25 years ago well, it's killed several of those 3.5hp push mowers and one of those self propelled 5hp mowers, a brigs n straton 5.5hp push and now its working on a new 5.5hp push ... Mostly it's the weather and poor maintenance that kills the mowers but I've got my hopes on that patch of 3 foot tall grass causing it to toss a rod out the side under load I'll take lotsa pictures and make a big fuss about how the lawn killed the mower...

If I don't mow the lawn in back, nobody in the household will.. unless you offer them beer or 50 bucks.... I don't have either to just give to someone to do something I can do myself so.... I mow... haven't done it for a while but if you miss a week in winter might as well wait all season cause it's just as hard to cut 4 foot lawn as it is 2 foot lawn.. gives me fun places to hide n seak, and my nephews got to make a couple grass forts...... It would be a freekn dreeeeeeeem to use one of those riding mowers...... when I'm done with my storage building, I'll put a riding mower in it next to my 250cc GP replica, then figure out a way to make them both run on biogas or alcohol
