I have a problem with my laptop. My computer restarts on its own and then the screen turns blue. I am informedI have a problem, that "A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated." I am then instucted to turn off my computer, restart in safe mode and check any recently installed hardware or software.
The first time this happened, the system just did a memory dump and everything was fine, so I thought it was a one off, bt now it has happened again. First time, i had Windows Media Player open and was playing a movie I downloaded, this time I only had Azureus, the torrent downloader, running. I am using a new infared mouse, but it works fine 99% of the time, could this be the problem? The message told me to switch of BIOS settings such as caching and shadowing, but aint this crucial for good performance?
The rest fo the message stated this "*** STOP: 0x00000000F4 (0x00000003, 0xFFAACDA0, 0xFFAAFCF14, 0x805F9F88)" and then "Memory dump in progress: " then numbers starting from one appeared, but not representing seconds as 1 to 2 took several minutes.
Can anyone help me? I am using a hp pavillion ze5600 with WINDOWS XP Service Pack 3, and the mouse is a Tiny with S/N: M00022827. The Aureus is the latest version, Windows media player is version 10. I have done a sweep using adaware (private use) and spybot (latest version).
Thank for any future help!
