    Blackcore trojan backdoor virus

Kinda freaking out here. My computer is from time to time slowing down. When I run S &D It tells me that I have blackcore. I get rid of it and the comp acts fine for a day or so and then it happens all over again. I had another virus on a different computer and it was much more clever than I. I have read the "read before posting" and have done all of the steps. I will paste the stuff down below. Could really use some help here though.

I think that this pretty much covers it. I have rehidden the files and turned off and back on the system restore. Am I safe, and did search and Destroy do its job or should I expect an audit from the IRS. Please help. Thank you very much.

What is the second log you posted? I know it must be an online antivirus scan but which one?
Did you run the ATF-Cleaner in Safe Mode and have it actually remove anything?
Also, was the AVG Anti-spy run in SAFE MODE? It should have been and it should have been configured to fix or remove whatever was found.

    blackcore

Initally the computer wouldnt run kasparsky so as I went down the list in the "read before..." file I ran panda and I that is the second scan. The ATF was indeed ran in safe mode and it didn't tell me what it removed only that it cleaned out 80.4 MB of stuff. I didn't see, but might not have been looking for, a button to record a log. AVG was also run in safe mode and it couldnt fix the three threats that it found. one was considered medium and the other two were high level threats. I was wishfully assuming that those two that were named not a virus were the culprit. AVG said that it was unable to remove because these were "Embedded" in a data\sun\java.... SO these little baddies were merely quarantined!! I am only somewhat puter literate so I really do not know how to decipher the HJT log or know what my scanners have found. It just occured to me that I did all of this after the last time that S&D located and removed BlackCore. Could that help it hide for a while? I appriciate your prompt response, that was very cool. thanks for all of your help. please let me know if you have any questions as I just want this gunk out of my lowly little puter. Thanks

Go to Add/Remove and Uninstall Java, all of it.
Then reboot to SAFE MODE run AVG Anti-spy again and see if it comes up with anything, have it fix all it finds, save the log as before.
Reboot and post back here with that new AVG log.

I Did what you told me...

I ran avg and this time I was able to delete the previously quarantined files. though I imagine that because Java had been deleted it wouldnt have found them in there anymore. I think that all is clear but I will repost the avg log and the hijack this log. I am really gratefull for all of your help. the internet is a place where non computer savy users accidently run into a whole world of unknown shi-tuff and can be hard on the nerves. You have made life a whole lot easier. BTW, could you take a look at my HJT post and tell me if there is anything that I should get rid of. It all looks like a foreign language to me. I think there is stuff in there that I really dont need. I hope Im not bugging you too much but also this machine still has all of the factory settings for display and memory and such... is there anything that I should change to help it run more smoothly... any and all help would be greatly appriciated. Thank you again!

I will be happy to give you a list. First thing though is you should go to SunJava and download new java. I recommend using the manual install instructions.

    Also download SpywareBlaster
Which will: Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.
Be sure to enable the Restricted Sites portion of the program too.

To control AutoStart Programs download Mike Lin's StartUp Control Panel
a great FREE program that makes controlling autostarts as easy as can be.

    The ones you can disable are the following;
ATIPTA>>>Control panel for the ATI series of video cards allowing access to such features as display resolution, colour depth, etc. Available via Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display. Some users may need it if they have optimised their settings
    HP Software Update
    >>>can be run manually
QPService>>>Related to HP_QuickPlay brings your favorite music and movies to life with the touch of a button. Note: located in C:\Program Files\HP\QuickPlay\
eabconfg.cpl>>>Easy Access Buttons control panel on Compaq laptops. Only required if you use the extra keys
Cpqset>>>Default settings software in Hewlett Packard notebook
    LogitechCommunicationsManager>>>Related to Logitech_webcam Note: Located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\LogiShrd\LComMgr\
    LogitechQuickCamRibbon>>>Related to Logitech_webcam Note: Located in C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCam10\
iTunesHelper>>>Installed with Apple's iTunes for Windows. Uses ~3-4MB of memory
QuickTime Task>>>System Tray access to Apple's "Quick Time" viewer
ISUSPM Startup>>>InstallShield Update Service related; Automatically searches for and performs any updates to the software. Not required.
ISUSScheduler>>>InstallShield Update Service Scheduler; automatically searches for and performs any updates to the software so you’re always working with the most current version. Not required.
Yahoo! Pager>>>Yahoo! Messenger allows you to send instant messages. Available via Start -> Programs
Are you using AOL? If NOT then this one can also be stopped
IPHSend>>>If you do not use AOL then you should look in Add/Remove for anything AOL and uninstall. Once you have done that then also do a file search on the computer for AOL files and delete them.
