    Windows deleting files

after spending an hour or so recieving a file over msn from a friend, (an episode of anime, in AVI format) i went to open the file when a windows message appearing telling me that the file could be dangerous and that i should not open that kind of file, it then must have deleted the file since i cannot find it anywhere on my system.

Is there any way of restoring this file and stopping windows from f**king up my life even more in future

Look in your temp files folder and the Received items folder in my documents. It should be in one of those places.

no, this has happened to me before.

i dont think there is any other way except them .rarring it or .zipping it with winRAR or winZIP

    www.winrar.com - www.download.com

download winrar or winzip and use the trial version. it keeps going and going, so dont worry. also, winzip is already in the windows xp service pack 2 (like extract files here, or something)

then, get ur friend to send it thru .RAR or .ZIP format and enjoy your anime

(bittorrent is used for downloading anime, too)
