Which of the following words would be most logically next in the list above?
    SQUANDER, SATIATE, MINE, TABLE
ANSWER (Congrats Acoustikarl): Satiate. Each word begins with the same three letters as the days of the week in logical sequence, SUN-FRI.

I think it is that simple but considering the geography knowledge of an average American and the way the question was asked, people start counting the S's in mississippi river (did I typed it right? ).

It could be as simple as "none" for the nile or amazon, it could be convoluted and "one" for the statement "longeSt river in the world" or it could be right or wrong as the mississippi that has 4 s's... maybe that all covers it.

You're probably right (and your spelling is correct for Mississippi). I was thinking more along the lines of how rivers flow and the "S" curves that they have. But I'm sure that is not what was implied and the correct answer is most likely the Nile.

Hmm, lot of variables for this one. Was it winter and they got snowed in a starved? Did they start a fire then go to bed without checking the chimney and asphyxiated cuz a bird had built a nest in the chimney which blocked it? Did a hungry bear trap them inside and eat them?
