19" or 20" display??

I'd like to buy a new LCD display and maybe somebody explain me what is actually the difference between 19" and 20" LCD displays? 20" display is just 1" wider with the same height of 12" which makes it exactly 4:3. Looks to me like 19" display is most popular for regular use like word processing, internet browsing etc. Is 20" display designed for some particular applications?

A 20" diaganal with the same aspect ratio of a 19" diaganal is only going to be fractionally larger over all, not realy worth the extra money. Do you have any specs of the screens you are looking at? brand, responce time, contrast ratio etc..

Thank you for an info, I've a good impression of Samsung panels in general, of course smaller response time is better as well as a contrast ratio higher...
I got on Friday at work a 20.1" 1600x1200 Samsung SyncMaster 204T monitor, don't really have any opinion of it as yet, looks good though. Actually I need it for office work and also for use with Photoshop.

I've used a syncmaster 223wp; samsung's got some nice lcd's but the screen is a little too shiny for me, kinda like looking at Glossy photo's, way too much ambient glare.
