I have a Fellowes 5-button Optical mouse...and because I was in the process of moving and such, I just booted my computer up for the first time in a little while today...and the mouse would only click on things on the desktop.
Like, when I booted my comp, I got a popup about a Flash update being available and the Compaq "do you want to make backup disks now" message. But my mouse wouldn't click on either of those things to make them go away. But if I clicked on a file on the desktop...it worked fine.
However, I opened one of the folders on the desktop and then it wouldn't click on anything in the folder. But since the folder didn't take up the full screen, I was still able to click on items that were "behind" the folder (on the desktop).
Any ideas about why this might be? Please tell me it's a problem with the mouse itself and not my computer?
(Btw, if it makes a difference...the mouse plugs into a USB port...rather than the back of the computer.)
Thanks in advance!![]()
