Don't mind telling you...my head is spinning!
Notice that you have Spy Sweeper installed. Is this program up to date or is it just the "tryout" version?

Haha... understandable! I *really* appreciate all you're doing; I can't even say how much! Spy Sweeper is a tryout version... it's actually probably expired now. I've rarely used it in favor of Spybot/Adaware combo for free.
Ok, let's leave it for now, the Spy Sweeper I mean.
Do this;
Staying OFF the internet and in SAFE MODE;
Go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove
uninstall the following programs; Follow the prompts for each one, you may have to keep rebooting, I don't know for sure, some probably will require rebooting, if so go ahead and then continue on to the next one.
BitTornado 0.3.7
mIRC
Napster Burn Engine
Nero 7 Demo
Orb
Recover My Files
Reg Organizer 4.0
UseNeXT
Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only)
Viewpoint Media Player
Let me know if you have problems with any of them...after you have completed the full list.
Problems as follows:
Napster Burn Engine - does not show up in add/remove
Nero 7 Demo - "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. Ths can occur if you are running Windows in Safe mode [I am] or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
mIRC - "please not that some files could not be removed"
Recover My Files - "An error occurred while trying to remove RMF. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove RMF from the Add/Remove list?" (I clicked yes)
UseNeXT - "file C:Usenext\unins000.dat does not exist. Cannot uninstall.
Everything else was problem-free; nothing required reboot.
Just out of curiosity... while rebooting, I saw three processes running called svchost.exe, which I know is normal, but one said 1,677,000 K for Mem Usage. Is that normal?
No, I don't "believe" that is normal. I have noted that and it could be one of your nasties...Just out of curiosity... while rebooting, I saw three processes running called svchost.exe, which I know is normal, but one said 1,677,000 K for Mem Usage. Is that normal?
I want you to download and run Stinger
Save it to your desktop.
Run McAfee AVERT Stinger.
*If necessary, click the Add or Browse button to add additional drives/directories to scan. By default the C: drive will be scanned.
*Click the "Scan Now" button to begin scanning.
*By default Stinger will repair all infected files found.
Stigner is running, in Safe Mode, right now. It looks like it will take a few hours as well; is there anything log-wise that will go along with it, or just a confirmation that it's done?
Click the File menu and select Save report to file
I went to check on Stinger and it appears to have frozen... it's on the same file as when I checked on it earlier. I believe that file is just a shortcut from the desktop (it's in the desktop folder, though I can't see the entire file path). Anyway, is this because it's in safe mode? Should I try to run stinger in Normal mode and see what happens, or should I try something else?
Stinger should be run in normal mode. Try once more, if it doesn't run then we will try something else.
Nope... Stinger froze up in normal mode too, at the same place.
