    Murphy's Law can...

Shove it!!!! You've all heard it, but here goes again....Just when things were starting to look up...something has to happen....

    The Good News:

I just got "Promoted" at work. I was doing Tech Support, part-time, and that job SUCKED. When I first started at Iserv I told the finance manager that if they EVER needed help to let me know because I'm going into Accounting. Well, Just last month one of the Finance employees resigned leaving an open position. I didn't think anything of it as this is only my second year in college and my first year in the accounting program. Well, I was approached by my Supervisor who told me to meet with the finance manager on my lunch break. Not knowing what to expect I went and met up with him. Well, it turned out to be an interview for a position over there. I was up against 3 other people, all of whom had degrees, at least a bachelor's, but were not employees of the company. Well, the next day I was approached by the finance manager who told me that if I wanted it, I had a job. SO, I am moving up from being a Part-Time Tech support employee to being a full-time A/R Clerk, all without a degree or experience! Not to mention I get a raise!!!

    Bad News (of course):

[rant]I took my truck into the tranny shop because it wasn't shifting quite right. Well, I just got a call from them today with the estimate...$2500 to rebuild it....That includes all parts and labor. It's over $1200 in parts and the rest is labor. So, I have $1100 saved up for it, which means SOMEHOW I have to come up with $1400 to get it back...[/rant]

    That is all...comments welcome

ouch! spendy tranny! you might find a good tranny via the junkyard but it sounds like they already got it apart to see what's wrong etc... so you don't have much of an option with that. Congrats on the promotion. More money is good.

$2500 to rebuild a tranny? WTF is this world coming to??

Just slap in a Turbo 350/400/700 from a hotrodding supplier for $1000 and be on your way. ...that is if you drive a GM product-change to C4 or C6 for Ford or 727 Torqueflite for Mopar. lol

LOL!! I'd upgrade....but that's way more work than I have time for ATM. I'm working 45+ hours/week, plus 13/hours week of school, on top of the 12 hours/week of homework....not to mention, it's not the easiest to do in a dirt driveway....
