Laptop Keyboard

Have HP dv8000. The computer fails to recognize random keystrokes. This occurs whether I type rapidly or slowly and carefully. All keys are susceptible to being missed, i.e., its not just (j and t were just missed and I had to go back and insert) a few specific keys.

Its not my typing, I don't have this trouble on my desktop.

Any thouhts?(g missed here).

Do you have any programs that control the keyboard such as keyboard remappers, macro controllers, etc?

plug in a full seized keyboard and reboot see if that board works ok...

if it does you need a new laptop board..

they run about 75-110$ depending (but some exceed 200$)


they arn't TOO bad to install

tell me if you need a guide and i'll post some pics...

Thanks for replies. Don't have any oddball programs. Will try my other keyboard tomorrow and report results (why didn't I think of that? ).
