Georgia Wildfires

The devil went down to Georgia ... and set it on fire The biggest fire is about an hour west of us. Latest stats is that it is 55,000 acers with 35% contained. Surrounding counties/states have been sending additional support. So far hubby has gone out there twice with crews from our county. Unfortunately 14 homes have burned and 3 firefighters injured. Although it could be worse.

Daytona? Wow, I knew J-ville was getting the smoke. Did not realize it went further. Winds shifted yesterday so the fire is heading west now. We'll be aaaight Thanks

We have those almost yealy down in Souther Kali as well but nowhere that big. I know it aint fun, you guys be safe! I meant your hubby especially because you, Hey, could jump on your trike and save your skin!

that's a big fire~ in retrospect, you will have some awesome sunset/sunrise pics with all the smoke in the air from the fire.

Just got word that the additional crews are being sent home. With the directional change of the fire it seems there are no houses to protect. Now it up to Georgia Forestry to dig those trenches

Cauzomb, I know what you mean about the sun pics. I've seen some awesome sunsets but did not have my camera at the time. Hubby and I might head that way tomorrow for some pictures. I'll post some if we do

Well no surprise we could not get to close. The guys from one of the quints in town offered us a ride out there but I couldn't seem to be ready in time to leave at AM this morning
