    I've not allowed any Norton/Symantec software near my computers since I
    moved on from Win98. Be it free or otherwise.
    When a company has to issue software to remove their own crud, that's
    the time to give it a wide berth.

    So with what 'protection' do you feel happy? MSE?

    Comodo
    Avast
    Spyware Blaster

    On demand -
    Superantispyware
    Spybot
    Malwarebytes

    Firefox with all kinds of stuff running, No Script Ghostery

    Not found anything for years
