Now I am getting the questions as listed in the above post, so let me proceed and see what happens. Will get back to you.

The windows installation is finished so I am waiting for directions on what to do next. On the list you sent it says to install drivers next but I am not sure I need to attempt that without your direction. So I will wait until I get word from you if to go ahead and put a disk in and attempt it. According to the directions in the link that you gave me I am supposed to know which drivers to install and in what order. You can guess my response to that (oh my!).

We are back in our hotel...at least for another night. Better than sitting in the dark in a hot house, that is for sure! We have had two times given for likely electric return...early tomorrow morning...OR Monday midnight. We are hoping of course for tomorrow but have reserved the hotel for tomorrow night just in case.
    Anyway.
What you need to do next is install your drivers. Know you said you had three disks that said drivers. Do you have any idea which one you actually received when you purchased the computer? Or did all three come when you requested the Windows Install disk? You will need the one that is the latest version...there should be either version numbers or maybe a copyright date. It is likely, however that they all may be the exact same disk. My friend had the same thing happen to her, no Windows install disk included with the computer but did receive the driver disk. When she had a major failure she called Dell and they sent her the disks and for some reason at that time they sent her the Windows Install disk and two copies of the same driver disk she all ready had.
So tell me what yours say...exactly. Won't need your Service tag or anything at this time, only if you run into trouble. Then I will tell you how to use it if needed.

Sorry to hear about your trouble but thankful you are safe and all of the hotels are not booked.
What I have is a disk that says Drivers and Documents this has a date of May 2010.
Then two disks that say Drivers and Utilities both dated January 2011 the look and read the same with the barcode on the label that seals the back being slightly different.
They did all come at the same time in the same package.

Drivers and Utilities Disk is the one that you need, either one of those would be fine. They are just double copies of the same thing.
Insert either one, doesn't matter. Can't recall exactly what choices you are given when the disk plays, don't have mine with me here at the hotel, but you have choices for Drivers, or several different types of utilities you can run using the disk. Obviously you want the drivers.
When that portion is chosen you will then be presented with a list of the various drivers needed for your particular computer. The ones matching the things installed on your computer will have a Check mark next to them, those are the ones you will need to install. They will have to be done one at a time, just follow the prompts. Some will require a reboot to complete the install, if they do then please do that right then. Once that's complete then run the disk again and go to the next item. Just remember, any with check marks next to them correspond with some piece of hard ware installed on your computer...audio card, video or graphic card, wireless "stuff", modem drivers..etc. Anything listed with a check mark beside it you need. Continue until you have installed them all.
One of the prompts you will receive with each will be something like..."you don't have a folder containing Rx29292.exe, do you want to create this?" That's a made up number by the way just giving an example...when you get prompts like this say yes. Each one of these drivers will possibly have slightly different instructions so read them all carefully before proceeding with each. It really isn't hard, just be sure you read everything. I am here if you have a question with something.

I had five drivers with check marks beside them and I have installed them.
    I installed these:
    Audio Driver
    Realtek ALC887 HD Audio
    Controller Drivers
    Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility
Intel Matrix Storage Manager ( this one was a bit strange because after I told it to unzip a folder opened and that was it)
    Network Driver
    Realtek RTL81XX PCI-E Network Connection
    Video Drivers
    Intel Q43/Q45/G43/G45(Eaglelake) Graphics Controller

There were others on the list but they were not checked.
If that sounds about right I am ready for the next step.

I don't know I disconnected everything from it except the monitor and mouse as instructed on the install list. I will connect the internet cable and try and get back to you.
